Skerritts of Nottingham Limited

Skerritts of Nottingham Limited operates the Grim’s Dyke Hotel in London which is famous for its association with Sir William Gilbert who wrote the popular Gilbert and Sullivan operas. It was his family home from 1890 to 1911.

Built originally as a country house for Frederick Goodall, one of Turner’s favourite engravers and a painter in his own right, it was converted into a hotel in 1970. It takes its unusual name from an ancient defensive earthwork which runs from Pinner Hill to Bentley Priory.
