The 3 R’s Education Trust

The 3 R’s Education Trust is a non-government, non-profitable organisation, established by Mr N R Puri on 27th February 2004, to provide financial assistance to those in conditions of need, for the advancement of education and for the provision of facilities for recreation.

The Trust adopted a service project known as Saraswati Vidyalaya which aims to remove illiteracy and help in the overall development of the remote tribal and rural villages in India and Nepal. Our aim is to set up 100,000 one teacher village schools by the year 2011.

Puri Foundation

The Trust is made aware of the villages by Saraswati Vidyalaya, which then finds a teacher, normally locally educated youths, who will be specially trained for the purpose of becoming catalysts of change and building hope for the entire village.  Each class, often held under the shade of a big tree, has between 30 and 40 children between 5 and 16 years old. Each school operates on a budget of less than 75p per day.
